Operations Manager

Netherlands, Noord-Holland, AmsterdamEngineering

Job description

At GBM Works, we developed a disruptive and innovative method to silently install foundations. Now, we are developing the tool, our Vibrojet®, for the next generation XXL monopiles used for wind energy offshore. Our patented method will solve major challenges in the offshore wind industry that are associated with the current method ‘piling’ such as harmful noise to marine life, potential delays, fatigue damage in the pile and scaling issues. We collaborate with leading offshore contractors and windfarm developers. As we venture into unchartered waters, we are looking for inventors who like to challenge the status quo and can push boundaries in cooperation with the existing team.

Interest from the market for the Vibrojet® is now so strong that the first commercial order for the preparation and execution of installation works at sea is expected to be obtained within 6 months.

The Operations Manager will participate in setting up the Commercial Operations team, which is responsible for the supply of all future GBM Works products and services. The offshore operations planned from 2023 onwards will require know-how and experience within the GBM Works team. Therefore, strengthening the team with a Operations Manager with experience in the offshore wind industry, preferably with the installation of monopiles, is a top priority.

We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to strengthen our Team.

Your role will include the following:

  • Preparing and executing offshore demonstrations and tests with the new Vibrojet® methodology.
  • Preparing and executing onshore tests on lateral- and axial bearing capacity.
  • Coordination of the GBM Works team on the operational side.
  • Coordination with the partners and suppliers of GBM Works such as the offshore contractor, the windfarm developer and the vibro hammer OEMs.
  • Evaluate foundation installation procedures and work methods.
  • Assess geotechnical installation risks for monopiles.
  • Contribute to the evaluation/planning and /or performance of laboratory tests.
  • Provide support and actively participate in continuous improvement of procedures and equipment.

What do we offer?

  • An experience-based salary.
  • Stock options.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses.
  • 25 paid holiday days.
  • Location in Amsterdam.
  • A personal development plan.
  • Full-time position available immediately.

More importantly, we offer an inspiring environment with highly motivated people that are determined to achieve goals.
