Job description
GBM Works is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer
Do you thrive in an international scale-up environment and seek challenging work? Are you eager to contribute to innovative products and make a sustainable impact? If so, you could be our next Geotechnical Engineer!
What do you do?
As a Geotechnical Engineer you will have the opportunity to participate in the product development team, which is responsible for the development of all future GBM Works products and services. Currently, the main responsibility of the team is the development of the Vibrojet® prototypes to be used in onshore as well as offshore conditions, for the installation of piles with an outer diameter up to 9m. The theoretical fluidisation model that will be used for designing the prototypes together with all the jetting parameters for installation will be validated through laboratory and tests. Next to that, research is going on to driveability and bearing capacity for Vibrojet® installation. You will join the geotechnical team where you can learn from and contribute to our experienced geotechnical engineers and develop your creativity.
Why choose GBM Works?
Suppose you work during an internship for an offshore contractor who builds offshore wind farms and learn that their ships and their installation methods are anything but sustainable. Marine life suffers from man's drive to replace fossil energy sources with sustainable ones, but the installation of infrastructure is light years behind. Then, as a young engineer, you design your own method.
9 years ago we started GBM Works. We developed a disruptive and innovative method to silently install foundations. Now, we are developing the tool, our Vibrojet®, for the next generation XXL monopiles used for wind energy offshore. Our patented method will solve major challenges in the offshore wind industry that are associated with the current method of ‘piling’ such as harmful noise to marine life, potential delays, fatigue damage in the pile, and scaling issues.
